ENO Breathe Programme - Taking Integrative Medicine out in to the Community
The team behind ENO Breathe will share insights into this innovative breathing and wellbeing programme for people recovering from COVID-19, who are still suffering with breathlessness and associated anxiety.
Delivered by the ENO in collaboration with Imperial College Healthcare teams, the programme focuses on breathing retraining through singing. It is now partnered with 86 NHS clinics across the country and has helped over 2,500 individuals.
Speakers will talk about the unique arts and medicine collaboration, the programme’s vision, general governance and structure, and its evaluation framework. They will also share results of the Randomised Controlled Trial led by Imperial, published in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine. The trial found that participants experienced a 10.48 point (out of 100) reduction in breathlessness when they were running, compared to those who hadn’t taken part in the programme.
