Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council
The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) was set up by the government to protect the public. They provide an independent UK register of complementary healthcare practitioners, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
They set the standards that practitioners need to meet to get onto and then stay on the register. Their criteria stem from the National Occupational Standards for each profession, developed by Skills for Health. All CNHC Registrants agree to be bound by their Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance and are fully insured to practise. Although registration is voluntary, CNHC aims to mirror statutory regulation as far as practicable.
They register complementary health practitioners from the following eighteen professions:
- Alexander Technique Teaching
- Bowen Therapy
- Colon Hydrotherapy
- Craniosacral Therapy
- Massage Therapy
- Microsystems Acupuncture
- Nutritional Therapy
- Sports Massage
- Sports Therapy
- Yoga Therapy
Choose with Confidence. Look for the CNHC Quality Mark – your guarantee of standards.
