Alex Laird is a medical herbalist with teaching clinics at Whipps Cross hospital dermatology since 2000 and formerly at Breast Cancer Haven for 20 years. She is a visiting lecturer and has carried out herbal medicine research in GP surgeries. Her pocket book Root to Stem on seasonal food and plant remedies was published by Penguin in 2019.   She founded the charity Living Medicine www.livingmedicine.org to teach self care and the safe use of plants for health, reviving our cultural traditions. Living Medicine’s award-winning course An Introduction to Self Care with Foods and Herbs runs regularly at Chelsea Physic Garden and in Marlow.
