Anorexia nervosa is a life-threatening disorder with the highest mortality rates and highest risk for suicide among all psychiatric disorders. There are currently no approved medications for the treatment of Anorexia nervosa. The consequences of self-starvation that impact brain function, cognition, and behaviour are often grossly undertreated. This session will outline how to correct nutrient deficiencies, decrease anxiety, and propose a framework for effective treatment and prevention. Dr. Greenblatt is the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of Walden Behavioral Care, a consortium of eating disorder treatment centers. He is also a functional psychiatrist and one of the original pioneers in the field of Functional Medicine in Psychiatry.
