A deeper dive into mould illness testing; going beyond urinary mycotoxins
There are currently four schools of thought relating to mould/biotoxin illness: firstly, a focus on the immunoglobulin response relating to mould allergy. Secondly, respiratory and immunoglobulin response focuses on allergy, asthma, hypersensitivity and aspergillosis. Thirdly, a focus on fungi and mycotoxins and lastly the multi-systemic, multi-symptom condition known as Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). This workshop introduces all four schools and reviews associated physiological effects and test options. The NHS currently only considers allergy/asthma/aspergillosis mould exposure effects; opportunities for practitioners to explore the wider picture of biotoxin illness will be signposted at this workshop.
